Member Society of the International Balint Federation

Dear Members and Friends of the Hellenic Society of Medical Psychology and Balint Groups,

We have the pleasure to announce that on May, 22, 2021 our Society became a member of the International Balint Federation sealing this way our collaborative relationships with the “Balintian” international community that date from the formation of our first Balint group in Greece in 2012. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the members who have honoured us with their participation all these years, our accredited Balint group leaders and all our other collaborators who have contributed to our development which we are committed to continue with dedication towards the further dissemination of Balint groups and the promotion of a psychologically-informed medical practice in our country.

Participation in the online conference of the Maritime Hospital of Athens on October, 2, 2020

We will participate in the online conference of the Nautical Hospital of Athens entitled “Care for the patient in IVF” that will take place on 10th October 2020, where Mrs Lida Bitrou, clinical psychologist and accredited Balint group leader, will give a talk on the emotions in IVF treatment and their management in the therapeutic relationship by the clinician (doctor, nurse, midwife) in a way that is useful for the patient and her treatment, through the lens of the patient-centered approach introduced by Michael Balint.

Independent Balint group for the Child – 20/5/2018

We invite you to the “Independent Balint group for the Child” that will be held on Sunday 20 May 2018 at the Villa Drosini in Kifissia and is addressed to doctors and other health professionals who work with children (pediatricians, child psychiatrists, child psychologists etc) as well as teachers and educators.

The aim of this group is to provide a meeting place for the participants who work with children in the field of Medicine or Education where they will have the chance to reflect on and discuss the psychological aspects of their work with the children.

The participation in this workshop counts towards the completion of hours needed for the training in Balint groups.
